Red, Mark, and Buddy rode to Schulenburg on Saturday,
October 7th for the
Feed the Children delivery.
Great ride, beautiful weather. Left at 7:30 am.....arrived in
Schulenburg
(165 miles) at around 11:30 a.m. Had lunch at Franks with 85
enthusiastic
Star members from 7 different chapters across Texas. When we
took the
Schulenburg exit we could see the parking lot at the restaurant full of
Star
Motorcycles........64 in all.
Everyone ate lunch and visited until about 12:45.
The group left from the restaurant 2 by 2 and headed to the local bank
parking lot to meet the Feed the Children Truck.
At 1:00 p.m.....led by Police and Highway Patrol escort we paraded
through
the center of Schulenburg to a local Jr. College parking lot. Very
impressive showing for Texas Star members.
In the parking lot we distributed many boxes of food to the needy.
A
portion of the truck went to stock 3 area food pantries.
Very grateful recipients of the food and received blessing for the local
food pantry management. These folks were in awe of the generosity
of the Star chapters.
Several of the chapter officers were interviewed by the local
paper.......and we were promised copies of the article.
We have pictures in process which we will share with the group as soon
as we receive them.
Buddy, Red, and Mark arrived back in Kerrville at 5:30 p.m.
Great trip and experience.
